The Masters Hammer & Chisel - First Week Review

WOW! I have to say, after just this first week, I am really enjoying this program. I have been doing Body Beast for the past few months, and whiel I really love lifting, I miss some of the agility or functional training you get with some of the other programs.

The first thing I really like is switching between the trainers everyday. To me it keeps a constant sense of change, which does make it seem to repetitive or boring. This is my true first time of working out to Autumn Calabrese on a regular basis. I wasn't sure how receptive I would be to her style and technique, but I was pleasantly surprised. She has just the right amount of push with some great routines that push you regardless of if you are a man or a woman.

The second thing I like is that the workouts are a good mix between cardio, functional, and lifting exercises. You get a great variety targeting all the muscle groups, and even the muscles that you don't remember having. After the first day, I was reminded of muscles that were not there. I loved it.

Next, the duration of the workouts. Most are only 35-40 minutes, so it is real easy to get a good workout in with time restraints. Sagi and Autumn are not wasting your time with a ton of chit chat in between the exercises. It's time to work, and they know that. They still take the time to explain the workout properly so that you can avoid injury and understand the move, but after that, it is GO TIME!

The one aspect of the program I was hesitant about at first was the fact that each day is a total body workout. I have grown so accustomed to working a different part of the body each day, that I was afraid I would be to sore or worn out the next day. However, they do a great job of using different exercises, so you are working different muscle groups in that area of the body, and they alternate nicely between heavy lifting days and light form focused and controlled lifting days. And of course, a dash of cardio!

So there you have it. Stay tuned! As I wrap up the 1st month, I will be back to share my 1 month review!!!
