About Me

I am Former Sergeant of the US Army, father, and fitness enthusiast. I have been focusing on my health and fitness for the past 14 years. I have had my ups and downs like anyone, but I always find my way back trying to be the best version of myself.

I have always been slender and occasionally have had to lose a few pounds, but over the past for years, that has become even more challenging. I have read more about foods and nutrition than I thought I ever would, and it has helped me like I never imagined. I continue to educate myself as much as I can, and share what I learn along the way.

I used to run a lot in my younger years and enjoyed it immensely. Many 5k &10k races. But, my kness aren't like they used to be, so I find alternatives to keep moving. My oldest daughter, 22 now, has been running for many years and became a collegiate athlete running in cross country and track.  She is more of an individualized athlete. She did gymnastics for 8 years in her early years, but it just wasn't for her as time went on. My second oldest kid (20) was also in gymnastics for about 10 years, but traded out her leotard for a pair of running spikes, and ran cross country and track through high school. Around their sophomore year, they discovered women's wrestling and found their nice. They have a very competitive spirit and I love that about them. They have ventured on to wrestling in college and have been doing very well. My youngest (15) is the young man of the house and exploring soccer and middle distance running in track. He has participated in a several summer camps and enjoys the thrill of it all.

All of us continue to focus on fitness and health. It used to be so that we could keep up with the kids as they became stronger an faster, and our children so that they understand the value of living a healthy lifestyle and may enjoy the many years ahead of them. It has been a rewarding experience and we enjoy every minute of it.

I have spent the past years regaining my fitness and improving my health, and continue to do so. I understand that this is a journey, and will stay on the path for as long as I can. When my enlistment ended with the Army, I thought I would stay in shape forever. Well, I learned the hard way that wasn't going to be the case. However, the support and guidance I've received made all the difference, and now I want to pass that on to others. If you are looking for someone to chat with for support, I'm your guy!
